10 No Cost or Low Cost Ways to Get Facebook Fans

By Amy Kinnaird

Each week I consult with business owners who are just starting out with social media. In most cases they don’t have a Facebook business page, and almost none of them are using it to its full potential as a marketing tool.  One key to success with Facebook is having a big audience of your target clients. If you can get them to become fans of your page, you can build a relationship with them so that they will consider you when it comes time to buy.

Aside from purchasing a Facebook ad, there are actually quite a few great ways to increase your fan base without spending much money. The bottom line is to think about every time you touch a prospect or client. I call them Client Touch Points.

Here are 10 ways to get Facebook Fans that you may not have considered.

1) Voice message: on your phone recording, both cell and office, include a line at the end asking callers to become your fan.

2) Blog: make sure to include the link to your Facebook page on your blog.

3) Other social media networks: include a link to your Facebook page in your Twitter and LinkedIn profile, or other networks where you are participating.

4) Business card: add a line to your contact information either on the front or the back of your business card that directs them to your Facebook page.

5) Website link: somewhere “above the fold” of your home page (and possibly every page on your website)  put that nice little blue Facebook symbol so that visitors can click through and visit your page.

6) Ezine: in the signature line of your monthly or weekly ezine or email blast, add another line that links readers to your Facebook page.

7) If you have a store front, post a sign near the door or front window telling everyone that you are on Facebook and you’d love to have them as a fan.

8) Again, if you have a store front, put a sign near your cash register letting people know that you are on Facebook and asking them to become a fan.

9) Print your Facebook page URL on your invoices and / or packing slips.

10) Last, make sure your email signature includes the link to your page.

By including your Facebook page link information everywhere, you increase the exposure to your page and will regularly add new fans. It’s almost impossible to pick up a magazine or newspaper, see a billboard, or watch a commercial without noticing the advertiser’s Facebook link. Today, it’s almost expected that a business will have a business page. When you make the link easy to find, you will increase your fan base, and ultimately grow your business.

This does infact work! I’ve grown several fanpages on Facebook by doing this! Now… follow me over on http://www.facebook.com/flavorjays . After all, I am leaving my “page link” here too!! LOL.. LOL!!

    Thanks! Regards… Janelle
