Blogging after all can be a wonderful opportunity for moms; it doesn’t require any special education, it can be done in the comfort of your own home, and it gives moms a way to interact socially with other moms.

RSS Feed

You’ve probably seen the little orange square icon and heard the term RSS feed or reader, but you’re not really sure what it is. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication; it is a web format that is used to publish frequently updated content, such as blog entries or news updates.

With RSS feeds, websites and blogs are able to publish their content into a standardized format which then can be delivered into one place through the RSS feed. RSS feeds are a great way to save time by allowing the reader to go through large amounts of content while not having to visit each site individually.

There are many different RSS readers are available; there are localized systems that work with Microsoft Outlook and others that are web-based. Here are just a few examples of some readers: Amphetadesk, FeedReader, NewsGator My Yahoo, Bloglines, and Google Reader. (more…)
