How to Create a Video Blog (Vlog)

Video BlogBy Holly Reisem Hanna

Last week I stepped out of my comfort zone and produced my first video blog post, and from all the comments I received it seems as if video blogging is on a lot of people’s to-do list for 2010.

So here is the down low of how to create your own video blog post.

My laptop has a built in camera and microphone, if you don’t have video capabilities built into your computer, you will need to shoot the video using some sort of external recording device (digital camera, iPhone, iPod touch, or video camera) and then upload the video to your computer.

If you do have video built into your computer here are the steps that you will need to take. (more…)

Getting To the End of Your To-Do List

To Do ListBy Beth Dargis

I’ll bet you are looking at your to do list and thinking,” It would be impossible to finish this to do list.” And in its current state you are probably right. Wouldn’t you love the feeling of crossing everything off your list? When was the last time that happened?

Most of us never finish and never feel like we’ve done enough at the end of the day. We feel defeated and overwhelmed. But, you can actually get to the point where you get to the end of your list almost every day. We just need to solve some problems that are getting in the way.

Interview with Work at Home Mom – Kathy Jones of Mama Says Wash!

Kathy Do you work at home?

Yes!

How many children do you have?

Two.

How many hours do you work a week?

20-30; more during holiday season.

Tell us a little bit about Mama Says Wash! and how you got started.

Mama Says Wash! started by accident!  I was a corporate woman turned stay-at-home mom, raising two preschool kids and feeling like my brain was turning to mush amidst the dirty diapers and Barney re-runs.   I first started making soap in my kitchen for Christmas gifts for family and friends in October 2002.  I wanted to create a gift that was handmade, unique and useful; one that I could personalize for each person on m list.  Plus, it gave me something to do for myself, while the kids were napping or at preschool.   Friends and family raved about my soaps and starting asking to buy them to give as gifts themselves!  That’s when I realized that I could actually make money and have fun at the same time and hence, Mama Says Wash! was born.
