The Work at Home Woman’s Business Book Club
By Holly Reisem Hanna
Every month I read and review a new business or career related book for women. I love to read and thought it would be fun to start a monthly book club, and from the response that I received when I asked people if they were interested in a book club, it appears you all like to read too!
Book clubs can be an excellent way to stimulate your brain, encourage you to read more, and introduce you to new books and people that you would not have been acquainted with before.
So here it is, welcome to The Work at Home Woman’s Business Book Club!
Our first book is, The Mommy Manifesto: How to Use Our Power to Think Big, Break Limitations, and Achieve Success by Kim Lavine.
Midpoint Discussion: Friday, February 12, 2010.
Final Discussion & Review: Friday, February 26, 2010.
Book Stats: 194 pages. 11 chapters.
Book Description: “It’s time for a new women’s revolution, but this time it’s not political—it’s personal”.
“It’s a time of historic opportunity. Learn what it takes to create the life of your dreams by starting your own business from your kitchen table, without compromising your job as a great mom. The rules of business are changing; master them and get rich. Learn powerful techniques to face down fear and push aside doubt, using newfound confidence to seize opportunities and get ahead”.
“In The Mommy Manifesto, Kim Lavine—bestselling author of Mommy Millionaire—presents a provocative message of empowerment for all women, inspiring you to question the status quo and see new opportunities where none existed before. This is a manifesto for dreaming big, developing your confidence, and using your power and influence to create positive change—in yourself and our society. Holly, wow, you are so organized to pull all of this together. So this will be an online group where we will all read on our own and then the “club” will all be online discussion (i.e., no face-to-face or conference calling). Thanks in advance for the clarification.
