I love reading emails from readers, I enjoy the social interaction as well as the recognition, but what truly makes me happy is when I am able to help a reader fulfill their dream of working from home or becoming self-employed.

Lately I have received a lot of emails from new bloggers and website infopreneurs who wanted to know how to increase traffic to their website or blog. I have been emailing each person individually with a short and general list of things to complete, but I figured it would be more helpful if I created a more extensive list and shared it with everyone.

So here are twenty steps that I have taken to generate traffic to my blog, by no means is this list extensive, but it has helped The Work at Home Woman to achieve a Google page rank of 3, an Alexa rating of 255,484 and well over 46,000 page views per month – all within a four month period. more

Site Analysis, what is it and why you should be concerned about it? Website traffic analysis tells you where exactly your web traffic is coming from. It also shows you how many pages views your site receives, how many visitors visit your site on a daily basis, and what pages are the most popular.

Okay…but why is this important, you ask? Site analysis is especially important for your home-based businesses because it lets you know where your marketing efforts are paying off, and it can save you a lot of time and money!

First, if you are advertising your home-based business via a pay per click (PPC) campaign or monthly advertising fees you will want to know how many visitors each campaign is bringing in. After all you don’t want to be paying for advertising that is only bringing in a few visitors a month. By checking your website’s analysis you can determine where your money is best spent and where you should cut costs. more

Whether you are using a blog as a marketing tool or you’re blogging for bucks, you will need to come up with catchy headlines to capture the reader’s attention. Because after all the greatest content is nothing without someone to read it, and catchy headlines are how you reel them in.

Always remember that there are two main people that you are writing for; your readers and the search engines. You will need to appeal to both, but to drive the traffic to your site you will need to use front-loaded keywords in combination with descriptive titles to speak to the search engines.
