RSS Feed

You’ve probably seen the little orange square icon and heard the term RSS feed or reader, but you’re not really sure what it is. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication; it is a web format that is used to publish frequently updated content, such as blog entries or news updates.

With RSS feeds, websites and blogs are able to publish their content into a standardized format which then can be delivered into one place through the RSS feed. RSS feeds are a great way to save time by allowing the reader to go through large amounts of content while not having to visit each site individually. more

Official Launch of The Work at Home Woman!

By Holly Reisem Hanna

After a long year of doing research and writing content, and after four hectic months of working with a graphic designer, I am proud to officially launch The Work at Home Woman!

I decided to create this website after the birth of my wonderful daughter, Hadley. I have been very fortunate in that I’ve been able to stay at home with my daughter full time since she was born.  When my daughter was four months old, I became determined to find a way to make some extra cash from home. I searched online and networked with friends and past employers, asking them if there was any work that I could do for them while taking care of my daughter from home.  My networking efforts paid off and I started working part time from home for a small publishing company that a friend worked for.

During this time I learned a lot about marketing and the work at home realm. I couldn’t believe how many scams there were out there, and how little genuine information there was on the subject of working from home.  Motivated to become self employed and to help other women and mothers do the same, I decided to create this website and share my extensive research and knowledge with other women who had the desire to work from home.

The Work at Home Woman offers work at home job postings, ideas, resources, a monthly newsletter, and a blog that will highlight new work at home ideas, news, strategies, book and product reviews, articles on self employment and working from home, success stories from other women that are working from home, and lovable links!

Please feel free to contact me with your questions, comments, ideas or suggestions; I would love to hear from you!
