Happy Mother’s Day

I just wanted to take a minute to wish all you mom’s out there a happy mother’s day! I will be spending today with my daughter and husband, we are actually returning from our 7 night Caribbean cruise.  I usually host a mom’s day brunch with all of my siblings, but this year we will have to post-phone the celebration for a few days.

I hope that all of you hard working moms out there get to spend this day doing exactly what you want – because you deserve it!  You’ve probably seen this poem before, but I want to share it with you again, I think it sums up motherhood beautifully! I’m not sure who the author is, but this always brings tears to my eyes.

Happy Mother’s Day, Holly more

Let Me Help You Achieve Your Goals for 2010

By Holly Reisem Hanna

I truly enjoy helping people, that it the whole reason why I became a nurse (I just didn’t like the whole people can die on you factor) and the reason why I created this blog. I have come up with some new and exciting features that will help you to achieve your goals for 2010.

On January 1st I launched Woman Owned a feature that was created to help women promote their businesses and blogs for free. There are many amazing businesses and blogs already listed, but I know with the holidays many of you didn’t get a chance to submit your information. So for those of you who would like to participate, I will accept submissions until January 15, 2010. Please see Woman Owned for more information on how to submit your business or blog.

Secondly, for those of you who are looking for more exposure for your business or blog I have decided to launch a new feature called Blog/Business of the Month! The Blog/Business of the Month will be featured in the monthly newsletter and will include your banner ad, a short paragraph about your business or blog and an active URL back to your site. I am now taking nominations for the Blog/Business of the Month Feature. Please fill out this form in order to submit your nomination. The only prerequisite is that you are a newsletter subscriber – you can sign up here for your free subscription. more

Week in ReviewBy Holly Reisem Hanna

It’s been a very exciting and productive week for me, so I’m just going to jump right in and get started!

Next week I will be attending the Texas Conference for Women, in Houston, Texas. This is the State’s premier networking and educational event for women; and I have to tell you that I am thrilled to see Tory Johnson, Career Contributor for Good Morning America and CEO of Women for Hire, along with Suze Orman and Elisa Camahort Page, COO of BlogHer!

Oh yes, did I mention that I interviewed Tory Johnson?!? So look for Tory’s interview to be featured here on The Work at Home Woman, Monday, November 9, 2009. Along with covering this event, I will be posting my top tips for attending networking events. more
