Fabulous question and this is what stumps many bloggers. A regular blogging schedule is necessary if you want to engage your readers. I publish new content 2x per week. Every Monday and Thursday morning you will see new content on my site. I've also just started having guest writers publish on my blog, this takes some of the writing duties off of me but still brings my regular and new readers.

When my readers see me consistently publishing, that builds the trust. They know when to expect me and when I bring in other writers, they are more likely to read that content as well because they trust and like what I publish.

Consistent writing also helps with your alexa ranking. Lower alexa ranking equals increased blog traffic. Hope that helps.
