Lyndsee Bates is a stay-at-home mom of three. She's lived in Austin, Texas since 2004. In August of 2006, she was introduced to Scentsy through my sister and soon joined as Scentsy’s first independent consultant in Central Texas. Since then, her enjoyment of the Scentsy product has turned into a passion and her intention to make some extra income has turned into a very successful and satisfying home business.

Tell us a little bit about Scentsy and how you got started.
The Beginning of Scentsy:
Scentsy began in 2003 with the powerfully simple idea of aromatic candles, heated in decorative warmers with wax melted by the heat of a light bulb instead of by the traditional wick and flame. Scentsy’s founders shared enthusiasm for the idea, from this idea, they created a partnership and Scentsy was born.
Scentsy chose to not sell their products in retail outlets but through direct selling and network marketing. By the end of 2008, Scentsy has over 21,000 consultants marketing and selling the Scentsy product through in-home parties.
How would you rate your success from 0 – 10?
How do you manage all of your personal and business activities?
I try to keep my personal time my personal time, not answering phone calls, e-mails etc. I always put my family first, and we always have quality time when we are together.
What has been your biggest business struggle?
I have had a hard time conducting my “Orchestra” sometimes one thing plays louder than others in my life. I have had to come to terms with that and let it be, and let the certain area in my life sound louder than the others.
