Tell us about your work at home position with Stella & Dot.
Stella & Dot’s mission is to give women globally the means to style their own life on their own terms. With Stella & Dot, our celebrity coveted accessories brand is only sold through private trunk shows, personal shopping sessions and our ecommerce site. My week consists of booking and holding trunk shows with new and old friends, but most of my time is focused on coaching and supporting my fabulous team of 500+ women across the US, Canada, and the UK.
How were you able to bring your current position home?
After 11 years tied to a desk in the staffing world and running my Stella & Dot business along side, I realized that I was so much more efficient with my time and happier the days when I worked form home – so I left to focus 100% on my Stella & Dot Business. There is something to be said for loading the dishwasher while listening to a training call and being the one to be in carpool pick up when you choose. I wanted to be more present for my family and working from home with Stella & Dot has allowed me to structure my working day around our schedule not the other way around.
Are there any tips you would recommend to people who want to do the same thing?
My best advice is to look outside the box. Social selling companies offer many, many opportunities for a flexible income both part time and full time and even while working a corporate career and running a family these businesses can be quite the compliment. (more…)
