On October 28th, I had the pleasure of attending the CAbi BeautiFall Career Event. It’s no secret that I’m a huge CAbi fan, in fact I’ve hosted numerous shows in my home and written about them many times. But today, I want the CAbi Consultants to tell you why CAbi has been such a blessing in their lives.

My daughter (Monica) had been assisting me in my business since she was in high school. She has a fashion merchandising degree and always thought she would go on to be a buyer or an event planner. One day a light bulb went off that she too could have her own business and do what she loves which is style and empower women through fashion. Theresa Krause - President & Founder of Moxie GearTell us a little bit about Moxie Gear and how it got started.

I wanted to start my own direct sales company and wanted a business that could really help women in a way that no other company was. Personal protection has always been important to me and I have given safety and personal security tips to my friends for years, so it only made sense to start a company that I could help other women with their safety while helping women build their own business as well.

I knew there was a need for women to be armed with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves from those wanting to do them harm. Every 26 seconds a violent crime occurs in America.  One in five women will be sexually assaulted at some point in their lives. To me, these numbers are too high and I do not want to be anyone’s next victim.

Moxie Gear is a direct sales party plan company. We are providing less than lethal self-defense weapons designed for women. What better way to learn about these type of products than by having fun in the comfort of your home surrounded by your closest girlfriends? I know many women feel intimidated going into a gun shop staffed with men, and do not feel comfortable asking them questions to determine what self-defense options would best suit them. That is why I went with the direct sales business model, so that independent consultants could help women evaluate their needs. (more…)

Interview with Kelly Wenzel - with Stella & Dot and National Account Manager with Simply HiredTell us about your work at home position with Stella & Dot.

Stella & Dot’s mission is to give women globally the means to style their own life on their own terms. With Stella & Dot, our celebrity coveted accessories brand is only sold through private trunk shows, personal shopping sessions and our ecommerce site. My week consists of booking and holding trunk shows with new and old friends, but most of my time is focused on coaching and supporting my fabulous team of 500+ women across the US, Canada, and the UK.

How were you able to bring your current position home?

After 11 years tied to a desk in the staffing world and running my Stella & Dot business along side, I realized that I was so much more efficient with my time and happier the days when I worked form home – so I left to focus 100% on my Stella & Dot Business. There is something to be said for loading the dishwasher while listening to a training call and being the one to be in carpool pick up when you choose. I wanted to be more present for my family and working from home with Stella & Dot has allowed me to structure my working day around our schedule not the other way around.

Are there any tips you would recommend to people who want to do the same thing?

My best advice is to look outside the box. Social selling companies offer many, many opportunities for a flexible income both part time and full time and even while working a corporate career and running a family these businesses can be quite the compliment. (more…)
