Tell us a little bit about yourself and your entrepreneurial journey
I’m 29 years old and live in London. My journey started in 2009 whilst the UK was in the middle of the recession. It was sad to see all these fantastic small businesses that I had grown up with disappear literally overnight, and be replaced by the big giants, so I thought to myself what could be done.
On doing some research there wasn’t really anyone out there who would truly promote our great British designers, and if there was it would come at a big financial cost to them. I wanted to start a business that would benefit our home grown talents and help the small/medium independents continue to trade.
On putting my ideas together I thought if I launch online and have a website that was free for the designers to showcase on, they could have no restrictions on how much of their collection to showcase. Then I in turn would promote them on all social media and give them as much exposure as possible, no catch and no hidden charges and that’s how Its My Generation was born!
