Update: As of August 2019, Chloe + Isabel is no longer in business. For similar selling opportunities, please check out this post.
Is the direct sales model appealing to you? But you’re not keen on having to recruit others into the business? Well, here’s an opportunity that you'll want to check out.
Chloe + Isabel is a direct sales company that sells jewelry, embellished hair accessories, and beauty products. The company was founded in 2011 by Chantel Waterbury, a 15-year veteran of jewelry design and merchandising for major retail brands like Cartier, Tiffany, and Ippolita.
The jewelry line itself is ENORMOUS and consists of highly-stylized pieces that contain semi-precious stones and metals. In fact, their spring catalog has over 160 pages dedicated to their product line. I was able to check out some of the line myself; not only is the jewelry stylish and fun, but each piece has signature branded closures, and many items are convertible so that they can be worn in many different ways. Chloe + Isabel launches new jewelry collections each spring and fall, along with smaller capsule collections that come out later in the season.
How Much Can You Earn as a Merchandiser?

And this is really cool – there are no recurring fees for your website, they are provided by Chloe + Isabel for free.
As a Merchandiser, you can earn 25% – 40% commission on all sales, cash bonuses for milestones, as well as discounted jewelry, free jewelry, incentive trips, and branded swag. What Are Chloe + Isabel Merchandisers Saying About the Opportunity?
The jewelry attracted me, but most of all the structure of C+I which doesn't force you to recruit and the perks! – Kathy
I had wanted to join a direct sales company for a long time. I'm graduating with marketing degree this coming Sunday, and I wanted something that would boost my resume. However, I also wanted something I would be passionate about. I saw the jewelry, and it was over, I had made my decision. – Jenna
Customer-first + tons of compliments + ground floor opportunity + selling vs recruiting = NO brainer! – Wendy
I was in a job where I didn't have much control over my day, and there was no creative outlet so I looked for something I could do on my own outside of work. I studied French jewelry in grad school and really appreciated the design influences of Chloe + Isabel jewelry. I also liked that there was an interview, no monthly sales numbers to meet, and no recruiting. It really could be something just for me – however, it was going to fit into my life. – Tiffany
I chose Chloe + Isabel because a friend posted it on Facebook that she liked it. I messaged her. She told me she wore midnight palace to a wedding, and it got tons of comments. So I looked into and when I saw that there were no minimum monthly sales, an unsaturated market, and I didn't have to recruit Merchies under me, I went for it sight unseen! – Christy
My Review of Chloe + Isabel.
There are a lot of things I like about the Chloe + Isabel opportunity — so let's start with the obvious, the jewelry. They have a ton of products that will appeal to a wide variety of styles and tastes, and they have price points that will fit into anyone's budget ($18 – $148). And you never have to worry about quality; all Chloe + Isabel jewelry has a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee.
The startup cost is low, and you get a ton of great tools and support. The commission percentages (25% – 40%) and incentives are comparable to what other direct selling companies offer, but you don't have to recruit others into the business or meet monthly sales quotas, which makes Chloe + Isabel a unique opportunity. The only recurring fees you'll have in your business will be order forms, catalogs, and additional jewelry which you can purchase at substantial discounts or even earn for free. Your website is FREE – which this alone, would cost you hundreds of dollars each year if you were to open up your own boutique.
Another point of difference is the quality of its marketing tools and technology. Each catalog, website, and social media image is high-stylized which makes your job as a Merchandiser easier. Chloe + Isabel has been recognized by Business Insider as one of the 25 most innovative businesses in New York City.
Now for the cons. Because Chloe + Isabel is not a multi-level marketing company — you miss out on the additional earnings of building a team. I know, I mentioned this a pro too, so depending on your personality type and goals you may see this aspect as a negative.
Would I recommend this opportunity? Absolutely! Since I was able to try out the jewelry and go behind the scenes and check out the marketing and sales platform – I can honestly say that Merchandisers are set up for success. And the jewelry, well, my wishlist of items is long! I love that Chloe + Isabel caters to different styles; statement necklaces for bold personalities and more delicate pieces for classical ensembles. With all of this said, to be successful you need to have a love for the products and you need to put forth the effort — without these traits, it will be very hard to be successful.
