Charlotte Chaze went from a $28k salary as an academic researcher to a $158k salary as a data analyst. As a leading tech influencer, her TikTok is full of free information detailing how to get started as a data analyst. She’s also created a free data analytics course.

I was working full-time as a research assistant and was burnt out. When I started looking for jobs, data analytics popped up everywhere, and I noticed the pay was awesome ($75k at entry level!).
I used free resources to learn data analytics from scratch and then started interviewing. After just a few interviews, I landed my first data analyst job!
I’ve always been passionate about empowering others, but this aspect started when I helped my best friend land her first tech job.
This helped me realize that the biggest blocker people have is they don’t believe in themselves. That’s why I started posting on TikTok, and what led me to create a free data analytics course.
In my free data analytics course, I give out all the information you need to learn data analytics from scratch and get your first job in the field without spending a cent. Included are:
> Free resources for learning data analytics from across the web
> How to create a portfolio
> How to set up a LinkedIn profile
My favorite thing about data analytics is that many jobs are fully remote or hybrid.
The entry-level salary is $76k, so you can hit six figures after only a year or two of experience.
Data analytics is also the #1 job with the most increasing demand, so there are always lots of job openings.
Data analytics is the kind of job anyone can do, so any personality type can be successful at it. I recommend choosing the company based on your personality. For example:
An “Analyst” personality type may want to work at an engineering company; an “Explorer” could look into startups; a “Sentinel” at a large company; and a “Diplomat” at non-profits.
The key to landing your first data analytics job is a portfolio. My free course includes instructions on how to do real projects and create a portfolio.
The biggest secret to switching careers is to fake it until you make it. You can’t fake the skills – you’ll need to learn those. But you do need to fake your confidence!
You should be confidently stating that you can do this job. If you have a portfolio, you’re ready for the job. If you can ask questions and use Google, you’re ready for the job!
