I’m an active health blogger and I love my social media because it’s a free way to boost my blog and business. I particularly love Facebook because it’s a great place to get to know people, strike up conversations, and direct people back to my website.
If you’re not already using social media, you really should be! That’s where the people are, billions of them and they are ready and waiting to hear from you!
Today I’m going to share a few Facebook tips and tricks that everyone can use to help supercharge their business.
Here are 5 Ways to Stand Out on Facebook:
1. Share Inspiration and Encouragement Through Images
People respond really well to visuals, so using images is a great way to get more engagement. And one other thing we all need is more inspiration and encouragement in our lives. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in, you can find a way to share affirmations, inspirational quotes, and positive images with your fans, and they will love it!
I’m in the weight loss industry so I share images every day to help motivate people. Holly (here at The Work at Home Woman) could share images about any of her topics, simple productivity tips, inspirational quotes, and things to encourage the work-at-home woman to stay feeling inspired.
2. Ask Questions
Don’t just go on Facebook and share links to your website, that’s so boring and appears as blatant self-promotion. Your fans want to converse with you so ask them questions that will inspire a response and get them in conversation.
For example, here are a few questions I might ask:
- We’re coming up to the last quarter of the year. What are your goals?
- WHAT TOPIC? – I’m thinking of doing an info series on my blog in Jan. What topic would you like me to cover?
- Do you create a weekly meal plan or just eat on the fly?
It can be any question that you think is relevant to your fans. Get to know them by engaging in conversation. When they leave responses, you answer them and you start the process of building relationships and that’s what business is all about.

3. Find a Positive Angle That People Really Enjoy
Think of something that your fans and readers might really enjoy and make it a weekly feature on your blog. For example, I share a weekly weight loss success story. Holly could share a work-at-home mom profile or a work-at-home success story. People love reading stuff like this; it inspires and motivates them. And guess what else happens, they visit your website, they share your post around, and they anticipate your next inspiring post. BAM … you’ve got them engaged!
4. Spend Time Connecting with Others
There are millions of other businesses online as well so make sure you spend time actively conversing with other Facebook pages. If you didn’t know already when you log in to your Facebook page there is a ‘Home’ button in the top right-hand corner.
If you go around and ‘like’ other business pages (which you should), you will have a news and activity stream from other businesses/pages that you can access via the ‘Home’ button. You want to check in there daily and ‘like’ other people’s content. And leave comments or share their stuff too when you think it’s appropriate. This helps to get you more likes and awareness, and it also helps to build relationships with other businesses and bloggers.

5. Ask People to Do Something
Most people need to be told what to do. So ask your fans to visit your website. Tell them to ‘read more’, subscribe to your newsletter, subscribe to your YouTube channel, or leave a comment on your blog. It’s amazing how much more activity you’ll get going if you simply ask people to do something.
Conclusion.
Anyway, those are my five tricks and tips for standing out on Facebook. I know if you use these it will definitely encourage more likes, shares, and engagement on your Facebook business page.
