Book Review – The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur
By Holly Reisem Hanna
Last month I sent out a tweet on Twitter, asking followers which book they would rather have me review, Martha Stewart’s book, “The Martha Rules: 10 Essentials for Achieving Success as You Start, Grow, or Manage a Business” or Mike Michalowicz’s, “The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur”. While I got no response to which book people would prefer, I did receive a response from Mike himself. He tweeted that he was partial to The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, and he then offered to send me a signed copy. So it was decided right then and there that The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur (TPE) would be November’s book review.
I had wanted to read TPE for some time, so I was thrilled when I received the copy personally from Mike. The introduction which made me laugh out loud totally resonated with me. You see, Mike uses bathroom humor analogies to explain different aspects in entrepreneurialism. And let’s just say, that I too have been caught doing the toilet paper shuffle. Expect women tend to be a little bit more refined in the ways that they go about it. more
Reasons Why I’m Thankful for Working at Home
By Holly Reisem Hanna
While driving in morning rush hour traffic, to meet my mom at her doctor’s appointment, I was reminded of all the reasons why I am thankful for being able to work at home. You see, recently my mom has been having some serious problems with her vision, in fact she has been having short bursts of total darkness or blindness. As you can imagine this was a devastating shock to her and our family alike.
Luckily for me, I work at home, and I am able to attend her doctor visits with her and help her out as needed. And while it seems we are on the path to finding a diagnosis and plan of action, I am comforted in the fact that whatever the outcome, that I will be able to help her to the fullest extent because of my current working situation. more
