Have I ever told you how much I love Twitter? I love that I am able to quickly connect with people from all over the world; one of those connections that I recently made was with Diana Ennen, author, publicist and business owner. After checking out The Work at Home Woman, Diana contacted me on Twitter to see if I would be interested in reviewing her book, Virtual Assistant: Become a Highly Successful, Sought After VA. Knowing that many of readers are interested in becoming Virtual Assistants, I gladly accepted.
In today’s unsteady economy, many businesses and organizations are reaping the benefits that are associated with using Virtual Assistants (VA), by decreasing the costs associated with rent, equipment, overhead and insurance benefits. Even author, Timothy Ferriss talks about the benefits of utilizing a virtual assistant in his wildly popular book, The Four Hour Work Week.
While the Bureau of Labor Statistics is far behind the trend, this article written by Anita Campbell indicates that the Virtual Assistant field will continue to grow and expand as companies scramble to jump on the social media and blogging bandwagon. Recently I’ve received a lot of emails from readers asking various questions about websites and blogs, and if in fact they are really needed to run a successful freelance business from home.

I love HGTV (Home and Garden Television); from Divine Design and House Hunters to Designed to Sell – I could watch this channel for hours if my two year old would let me. So when I heard of a new work at home opportunity from my favorite channel I was absolutely thrilled! Haverhill Home Stagers has been running some commercials on HGTV for home-based Home Stagers, so I decided to take a look into the Home Staging field and see what exactly this opportunity entails.
Home Staging is the process of de-cluttering, organizing and improving the physical appearance of a residential dwelling prior to putting it on market for sale. According to WikiHow, “Potential buyers make their decision to purchase your home in the first 30 seconds upon entering. First impression is the key to selling your home fast and for top dollar. In addition, well staged homes sell for 30-50% faster than their counterparts”, so you can see why home staging is important! more

Do you work at home?
The majority of my business activity is done at home. Although I initially rejected the idea of having any help in raising my daughter, the reality of working at home with an extremely active little girl quickly changed my approach. I now have a wonderful babysitter twice a week so that I can dedicate this time solely to business activities. Needless to say, I also spend a great deal of time working in the evenings. outside of my home I do enjoy the wireless freedoms of my Blackberry which enables me to remain mobile yet connected to my work. Interestingly, I’ve discovered that social interactions and simple pleasures such as walking with my daughter through a playful park can be a great source of potential business ideas.
How many children do you have?
I have one beautiful daughter, Giordana Sofia. She is my muse and my model. more
