For those of you who have been following The Work at Home Woman, you know that one of my goals for 2010 was to write a book. I started off slowly and well, momentum never picked up – I only wrote 6 pages. I was stressed out trying to finding the time to do the research and writing so that I could have this book completed by December 2010.

When all of a sudden it dawned on me, I no longer had a passion for this project. Honestly, I can’t even remember why I decided to write this specific book in the first place.

At first I felt defeated; after all I did want to write a book, but this was becoming a chore that I dreaded. For about a week, I wallowed in disappointment, until I received an email from a reader asking me some questions about blogging and social networking. (more…)

One of the most frequent topics that I find in coaching others is the work and family balance issue.  So often people are working a home-based business at the same time they are working full or part time, and/or taking care of their family.

I am here to encourage anyone that all hope is not lost and balance can be achieved.  It starts with creating boundaries, organizing and simplifying your business and life, and then making a plan and sticking to it.

First, one of the best benefits of working a home-based business is that we get to be our own bosses.  And, that is also one of the biggest downfalls.  So many either work all the time on their home business, neglecting family and other obligations, or the exact opposite and procrastinate on business building activities and spend too much time on other activities.
