Just last week the website, The Next Web published a post called, “The 25 Most Influential People Tweeting About Entrepreneurship”. While I enjoyed the reading the list, I was a little discouraged by the fact that only 1 woman made the list.
With women starting new businesses at twice the rate of men, and with women dominating the social media realm, I knew that there was no shortage of women tweeting about entrepreneurship.
So instead of sitting back and letting all the guys get all of the glory, I took it upon myself to create a list of the 25 Most Influential WOMEN Tweeting About Entrepreneurship.
To create this list, I used Peer Index as the measure to determine which women were most influential. To be considered for the list, women must have a Peer Index score of 55 or higher. Women are in random order.

Wow!! So honored to be in such amazing company!! Thank you.
Hi Sarah – Happy to include you on the list. Congrats =)
Wow, this list is fabulous!!! I’ve already checked out quite a few on the list and am not sure where to stop. I’ve bookmarked this already and will come back again and again!
That’s an awesome list. Thanks so much for including me!
What a great list of influential, entrepreneurial women! Thanks for sharing, Holly!
What an honor to be included on this list – thanks very much for spreading the word!
I’m just super excited you took the initiative to showcase these fab women and that we actually have a peer index ranking to prove that we live and breathe entrepreneurship. How cool is that. Love it thanks a ton Holly.
Now I must get my next Top 20 Women on Twitter list into action again. You’ve inspired me.
Natalie
Can’t wait to see your list Natalie.
Wow! I am so honored to appear on this list. Thank you for including me with such amazing women.
Hi there!
Thanks for including me in the list (HUGE honor!)…but small correction. Although I *am* the author of the Whuffie Factor, that was several years ago. I’m actually an entrepreneur myself and CEO of startup Buyosphere.com. So when I tweet, I don’t actually tweet with advice for building business for your startup. I usually tweet with great frustration over raising money, what it takes to focus on building a product and the heartbreaks and elation that comes with being an entrepreneur.
Holly, I feel so honored to be included on a list of the many women I admire, and work to emulate. Thank you! What a great surprise to end my day and make my week at the same time.
What an ABSOLUTE treat and honor, Holly! I am grateful to be among some of my “twitter idols.” – wink.
I appreciate you taking the time to showcase the value women provide in the business world every single DAY! KUDOS to everyone listed!
All the best,
AMB
Holly,
Thank you so much for including me on this list. I am honored and I’m also excited since you are introducing me to several women I don’t know yet. I’ll be sure to follow all of them on twitter. I believe the work we’re all doing together as women entrepreneurs is making this world a better place!
Thank you so much for bringing attention to the women!
Holly–
You rock this is a great list and I am honored to be among these stellar women business leaders. Thank you for acknowledging my work.
Best–
Melinda F. Emerson
Thanks Melinda. Love what you’re doing and appreciate all of your help in the past.
Thank you so much for including me Holly. You are such a fabulous voice for women yourself and I’m glad I got to meet you in California last year!

Hi Holly – WOW! I’m so honored to be on this amazing list with such fabulous and talented women! Thank you so much! Also really glad to connect with you on Twitter! ~Kathy (@2cre8)
Hi Kathy, Happy to connect with you too.
Holly – it’s an honor to be included (as a work at home woman working in her pajamas LOL). I didn’t know about peer indexing and thank you for introducing me to more fabulous and inspiring women.
Elena @elenaverlee
You’re welcome Elena. Gotta love working in home in your jammies =)
Hi Holly, what a wonderful list of talented women. It’s an honor to be included with so many talented gals. I’m sure it was hard to limit the list to 25 — I can think of many others to be included.
- Anita
Hi Anita, Thanks for stopping by. It was very hard choosing just 25, but using Peer Index definitely helped narrow down the list.
Excellent list. Thank you so much for sharing these fantastic women
Thank you SO much Holly for including me on this incredible list of women! I’m a HUGE fan of The Work at Home Woman and all that you do! You rock!!
Melissa
@MelissaOnline
You’re welcome Melissa. I think you rock too!
I loved this article and checked mine:) Was a little disappointed as I am only a 44 and not exactly where that ranks lol. Thanks for the article and it gives me something to strive for. Perhaps I will rank high enough for your next Top 25 Pick:)
Hi Dede, Thanks for stopping by. My score is a 53; it’s a neat tool. I also like using Klout, but I tend to be a stat geek.
What a wonderful list, Holly! Congratulations to all of the honorees!
I’d like to include Tory Johnson and Nell Merlino to this list.
Great suggestions!
Holly! Thank you so much for including me on this list. Like Anita, I think it must have been quite a challenge to narrow it down (and you should be at the top of it)! Thank you also for sharing the link to the post that inspired you. I admire all of the people listed there as well, and like you, see a need to expand the accepted definition of “entrepreneurial influencer.” Let’s continue working together to do just that! Thank you again for including me!
You’re welcome Donna Maria. Love what your doing, so happy we’ve connected. Wishing all of you hard working women entrepreneurs out there lots of success and happiness!
Holly, thanks for taking time to compile such a terrific list. Silly that women continue to be overlooked when making lists.
Thank you for including me, and introducing me to many new resources.
Great list! I tweeted this @MWYTsocialmedia
Such a fantastic list, I will certainly be looking to follow the work of these wonderful women
