Read on to see how Tricia became an empath coach.
You’ve been working from home since 2011, tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey into empath coaching.
Hi, my name is Tricia Dycka, and I am an empath.
A person who feels everything deeply, on a physical mental, and emotional level. Physical is feeling other people’s physical issues, and mental is taking on other’s indecision and being in a fog. The emotional is taking on other people’s emotions, and unless you understand that you are an empath all of this, you are taking on as yours.
Have you ever woken up one morning and just sensed that something was wrong? I have! I woke up, and I didn’t feel anything at all. No emotion. All that day, I was just going through the motions, and it wasn’t just that day. It was months of this. I wore a smile on my face, but behind the mask, it was vacant.
I went into a metaphysical store by me, and I was chatting with the owner. I remember her saying that people were releasing lots of emotions this time of year, and even she was a crying mess. So as she started to tear up, I did the only thing I could; I started tearing up with her. If someone cries around me, I also begin to well up and cry.
However, on this day, I had a reading, and she flipped over the cards I saw her jerk back into her chair and look at me with her mouth open. HMMMM I thought, this can’t be good.
She says to me you have lost your passion for everything and everyone, even life. Yes, that was a clear, concise picture of what was exactly happening. I didn’t even have the energy to care about what was going on. I was functioning as a shell of a person.
What I believe happened was that I was in emotional overload. I had to shut down. I couldn’t handle everything I was feeling.
Until one day the dam broke. It didn’t break where there was a slight leak; oh no, it was Niagara Falls! I went from not feeling anything to wishing I could be put in a bubble where nothing could touch me because I was feeling too much.
My awakening torment happened right around the holiday season, and for someone who usually loves this time of year, and was the life of the party, I suddenly didn’t want to do anything. That meant no decorations or having people over.
I was in chaos, and all I knew was I was constantly scared and always in the flight or fight mode. I was on the fast train to hell, and emotions flooded me so quickly.
For someone who normally loves being around other people and trying new things, I was hiding away from life. We were watching ancient aliens on TV one night and had company over. When they left, I had to stay outside; I felt like I was being choked in emotional overwhelm. I remember staying outside to breathe in the cold air. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I looked into the mirror and said WTF? This is not who I am. Please, somebody, help me!
This was pivotal.
I started receiving calls from psychic friends around the world (thank God for Facebook) saying they needed to talk to me. The message was the same. Your gifts are growing. Stop resisting. Learn how to work with them. Oh, and you are an EMPATH! A WHAT?
Yes, an empath!
A person who feels other peoples’ issues mentally, physically, and emotionally. It can be someone you know or someone you pass on the street and never met before in your life.
Since knowing I’m an empath, it has helped me better communicate with others, and understand emotions better. I now know that I am not crazy, and I actually have a purpose.
How has your online business evolved over the years?
Everything I’ve learned has put me in the place that I am in today. I was always helping others; our biggest meltdowns become our most significant teaching points. All that I have put together and shared has brought me to this point in my life of helping empaths.
My other businesses have always been built around relationships and helping other business owners. When they say, there is not a direct route to success, that is the truth. It’s a journey, and most of the times it’s a lot of fun, although there are some challenges and obstacles. It’s how we address those that make the difference. Happiness does not mean zero challenges, but how we respond in a way that works best for us.
What types of marketing strategies have worked best for you?
The best strategies that have worked for me is creating relationships. People work with people they know, like, and trust. I know it sounds corny, but it is the truth. People want to feel like you understand exactly what they are going through and always give them value. I love social media for this. I have made some great connections via social media.
How do you diversify your income streams?
I have products and services that I offer. I am also involved in affiliate marketing for programs that I love and have helped me get results in different areas of my life.
What has been the key to your success and longevity?
To me, personal success means learning something new daily. Business success means empowering others to follow their dreams, be true to themselves, learning what emotions do not belong to them, and how to clear it quickly and easily. Teaching them that being an empath is a gift, and how the happier they are, the easier emotions flow through them. What really makes me smile is when someone sends me an email saying thank you, I helped them through a situation that day. Longevity is believing in myself and knowing I can make a difference.
What has been your biggest struggle as an online entrepreneur?
My biggest struggle used to be having a supportive environment. It is imperative that you have a group of people who can support you and cheer you on. It is when you are lonely and feel that nobody understands that is becomes a struggle. Make sure you are in a tribe or a mastermind group when the things get tough you have a board to bounce stuff off of.
How do you manage all of your personal and business activities? Do you outsource any parts of your business?
I make sure that whatever I am doing, I’m fully present. I spend quite a lot of time working on my business, so when I am with friends and family, I am fully present. I do not work and really listen to them and enjoy myself immensely. I found that listening to others makes them feel special, and we, in turn, have an even better time when we are together.
I outsource my website to a VA, and I have a graphic designer. I think that was the best thing I could have done was to start a team. We work together, and they do what they are great at, and I get to create more.

Really enjoyed reading about Tricia’s business. As an often Lonely Preneur it’s great to know there’s support available specifically for this.
